Who should attend?

All staff who are required to drive through or work in possible Wildfire areas in the performance of their normal work duties during the summer period.


 

Course participants will learn:

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to recognise and understand the affects of weather on fire behaviour, describe the type and arrangement of bush, grasses and undergrowth fuels that make safety and survival possible, describe the mitigating factors that affect fire behaviour, be able to determine what is a safe refuge area, be able to make an educated decision to continue the journey or return to safer location.

  • Wildfire Behaviour
  • Wildfire Safety and Survival Techniques
  • Equipment required in vehicles
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Reporting in requirements from Staff to main office 

  

Qualification 

Non-Accredited — A certificate of attendance is awarded for this course.
