Course Aim:
To provide the participant with the knowledge and skills to be able to recognise and control onsite small emergencies.

Target Group:
All staff who may come in contact with small fires or emergencies during their day-to-day duties.
Qualifications Achieved:
Confine Small Workplace Emergencies (PUAWER008A)
Course Subjects:
- Evaluating emergencies:
- the nature and size
- fire spread
- human resources
- escape routes
- availability of control equipment and facilities
- Basic fire behaviour
- Principles and methods of extinguishment:
- portable fire extinguishers
- hose reels
- suppression systems
- fire blankets
- Emergency control equipment and facilities such as:
- fire doors
- fire sprinkler systems
- fire alarm systems
- Controlling the emergency
- Reporting the use of emergency equipment
